Meet the Staff
Guy E. Young
Guy Young accepted the position as President/CEO of the Kentucky Trucking Association in October 2016. Young has more than thirty years of experience in trade association and transportation management including industry safety, compliance and training. Prior to joining KTA, Young spent the last 22 years at the Georgia Motor Trucking Association as Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Young is a recognized expert on safety and regulatory compliance issues, developing educational seminars, training materials and member services programs. Young’s previous experience at GMTA included membership and business development, industry safety and security training, and organizing special events and outreach programs. He has a strong track record of working closely with other safety organizations and government agencies including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, NETS, Operation Lifesaver of Georgia, and Georgia Bureau of Investigation Major Theft Unit as well as the National Safety Council and the Traffic Incident Management Task Force
Director of Communications
Melissa is a 20+ year veteran of the trucking industry. She is works closely with the President, Board of Directors, allied industries and the councils and committees to develop and enforce policies and objectives for the association to ensure it maintains is values and meets established goals. Additionally Melissa is responsible for membership recruiting and retention activities within the KTA. Along with member communications, event planning and advertising sales.
Melissa has a great work ethic and an outgoing personality, and is an outstanding asset to the Kentucky Trucking Association as Director of Communications.
She currently resides in Lanesville, Indiana with her husband Barry, son Dylan and an older son, Tyler who lives in Saltillo, with his wife Kelly and their son Noah Contact her today for any Membership or Advertising inquiries.
