2018 Transportation Security & Law Enforcement Training Exercise – Terrorist Attack Preparations

Kentucky Trucking Association (KTA), in conjunction with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Surface Division – Industry Engagement Branch and Intermodal Security Training and Exercise Program (ISTEP) invites you to participate in an upcoming Vehicle Ramming Seminar on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center in Richmond, KY.
Exercise objectives are to:
- Examine the sharing of timely, accurate, and actionable information and analysis by local, state, Federal, and other stakeholders and the appropriate development and dissemination of classified/unclassified products;
- Discuss the integrated execution of appropriate courses of action outlined in strategic, operational, and/or tactical-level plans and the coordination of objectives, operations, and resources between local, state, Federal, and private sector entities;
- Discuss procedures associated with, and the ability to, delay, divert, intercept, halt, apprehend, or secure specific conveyances, cargo, and persons and the deployment of protective measures to mitigate threats and/or hazards; and
- Discuss the ability to establish a safe and secure environment through law enforcement and related security operations, for the conduct of lifesaving rescue operations.
The exercise will include scenario-based presentations focused on intelligence and information sharing; planning; interdiction and disruption; physical protective measures; on-scene security, protection, and law enforcement; and mass search and rescue operations. This event will also include a tabletop exercise discussion, and a live demonstration of potential vehicle ramming scenarios.
Who Should Attend: Participants should include KTA members, Usher Transport representatives, other trucking partners, federal security partners, representatives from law enforcement, state and local government agencies, emergency medical services (EMS) professionals, and other private sector stakeholders.
